  ROCK

  Book 5

  By: Kimberly I. Belle

  Chapter 1

  Rock

I’m supposed to be meeting with the MC’s attorney to finish up some details for the closing of a property we bought in town. We’re finally moving the clubhouse to a larger piece of land. Our attorney James was supposed to show up, but he’s fucking thirty minutes late, which is extremely unusual. I hope the old man is okay. His law firm has been taking care of the club since the beginning and he’s up there in age; I’m surprised he hasn’t retired.

I pick up my phone and dial him, but there’s no answer. This never happens. I dial Breaker next; he is my MC’s President.

“Breaker here,” he says upon answering.

“Hey Pres, it’s Rock. The old man never showed. We need to sign the documents before the end of day if we want to move forward with the land purchase.”

“Shit! He never misses a meeting. Did you try calling him?”

  “Yup, no answer.”

“Well shit, I don’t want to lose that property, Rock. I’ll see what I can do on my end, but try and figure it out.” He hangs up pissed.

My name’s Rock, also known as Eli Bryant. At least, that’s what it says on my birth certificate. I’m the Treasurer for the Corrupted Saints MC; I handle surveillance, anything tech-related, and, most importantly, the money. My brothers count on me to make sure we are a well-oiled machine when it comes to finances and surveillance; they also count on me to handle the business side of deals such as this property buy. I’m also the least tattooed on the outside, but take my shirt off and that’s another story. I like to keep my mysteries.

I decide to wait another ten minutes before I leave. I’m going to have to go to his office to find out what the fuck is going on and have another attorney legitimize the contract. I will not lose this property. It took us almost a year for this one to come on the market and it’s perfect for the new clubhouse location.

  Fifteen minutes later…

I’m getting ready to head out when I hear a car driving up. The property is out of sight and anyone driving up needs to come up a secluded dirt road. It’s a red Chevy Silverado, definitely not the old man’s car.

The old man gets out of the car followed by a young woman whom I’ve never seen before.

“Rock, I’m sorry, son. My car broke down and I forgot my phone back at the office. Emma over here saw me and gave me a ride,” he says as he sweats bullets.

“Ma’am.” I nod my head towards her.

“Hi there.” She extends her hand. I extend mine, and we shake hands. “I’ll just be over here when you’re done, James.” She heads back to her car and leans against it. She has the most piercing grey eyes I’ve ever seen, very dark hair that’s pulled back in a long ponytail, and she’s curvy as hell in all the right places. She probably comes up to my chest in height, and I’m 6’3”. I’ve never seen this girl before, where the fuck did she come from? We don’t get many new people in town, and if we do, the club knows about it.

“Let’s get this over with, we’re ready and eager for this property to be ours,” I say as we walk into the only building on the land. This used to be a warehouse for some shipping company, but they moved out of town.

“Let’s take a seat and get started.” We head over to a table, and he takes out all the paperwork and lays it out for me. We spend the next fifteen minutes going over the specifics and signing the paperwork.

“Well, Rock, this land officially belongs to the Corrupted Saints MC. I will file the paperwork when I get back to the office.” We shake hands.

“That’s what I like to hear,” I say to him before we walk out in silence. We are greeted by Emma talking on the phone.

“Listen to me, I’m done.” Silence. “I don’t care what you do or say. Just leave me alone. I have everything I need, and that doesn’t include you. I already told you not to contact me. How did you even get this number?” She sees us, hangs up, and tucks her phone into her pocket.

“Everything alright there?” James asks, concerned.

“Yeah, just an ex who doesn’t get that I don’t want to be with him,” she replies.

  “I see,” James says.

“You ready to go? I need to get to town and pick up a few things before it gets too dark.”

“I sure am. You think you can take me to my office?”

  “Sure, where’s that?”

  “In town by the bakery.”

“You’re gonna have to give me directions, I’m new here. I just got in a few days ago. I don’t know where anything is,” Emma says.

  “No problem, let’s go.”

“It was nice meeting you, Rock,” she says as she hops into her car. She has a delicious ass that looks ready and ripe for the biting and prime to be spanked and fucked.

“I’ll call you when the deed has been filed. It was nice seeing ya, Rock. Give my best to the brothers,” James says as he gets into the car.

“See ya later, old man.” I watch them drive away. I hop on my bike and head out towards the clubhouse.

  Chapter 2

  Emma

“So, what brings ya to town, little lady?” James, the attorney I picked up on the side of the road, asks me. I don’t know what I was thinking picking up a strange man, but he’s so old and was sweating on the side the road, I felt so bad. I thought he was going to have a heart attack.

“My aunt has a property in town. She recently passed and I came to check it out.” My parents passed away when I was younger, and my dad’s sister raised me. I joined the military and traveled around when I turned eighteen. We didn’t have any family except each other; she passed away about a month ago and now I don’t have anyone at all.

“Oh yeah, what was your aunt’s name?” James asks me.

  “Sarah Parker.”

“Now I’ll be damned, your aunt was Miss Sarah?”

  “Yeah.”

“I knew your aunt. I’m so sorry for her passing. She used us for her legal dealings when she was in town. We actually handled the transfer of the deed for the property. I remember now, she came in a few years ago to change the deed to her niece. You must be that niece.”

  “Yeah, that’s me.”

“You know, your family is one of the founding families of this town.”

“No way.” Could it be true?

“Yeah, you should head over to the town hall, there is a whole family history there.”

“Wow, I had no idea.” I’m shocked to hell. My aunt kept a lot from me, but I always thought it was to protect me. She liked to shelter me when I was growing up. We lived in the city about eighty miles north of here.

“You see that bakery right there? You can pull on up to the front. My office is right next door: 600 Parker Suites.” I see the bakery he’s talking about. I haven’t been to this part of town yet. I wonder if the name of building has anything to do with my last name.

“Parker Suites?” I say out loud questioningly.

James lets out a loud belly laugh. “You really don’t know anything about your family.”

  “I guess I don’t.”

He gets out of the car.

“Thank you for giving me a ride and saving my ass. How about you head into the bakery there and get yourself something? Let them know James sent you and they will take care of you.”

“Thank you.” I wait for James to get into the building before I hop out. If he wants to buy me something sweet, I’ll take it. I head into the bakery, called “Liz’s Bakery.” I open the door and wow, my nose is immediately assaulted by sweetness.

“Wow, it smells so good in here,” I say out loud to no one in particular.

  “I’m glad
you like it.” It’s a curvy girl like me behind the counter. I’ve always been a big girl; I teeter between size fourteen and sixteen. I try to keep fit and exercise regularly, but I can’t seem to shed the weight. I’ve come to terms with it. I go to the doctor regularly and he says I’m healthy, and that’s all that matters. Plus, I’m tall.

“Sorry, I sometimes talk out loud without realizing it.”

“No problem, I do it too. Are you new in town?”

“Is it that obvious?” I reply.

“Kinda. The town isn’t that huge and everyone tends to come through at least once but you don’t look like a tourist, plus my cinnamon rolls entice everyone with smell.” She giggles.

“I don’t blame them, it smells sooo good in here.” I walk up the bakery display case; she has everything. “Do you recommend anything?”

“I personally like the banana walnut bread with chocolate chips.”

“Oooh, that sounds great.” I continue looking, trying to decide what I want. “James from next door sent me in.”

“Oh, you know James?” she asks.

“Well, not really, I saw him on the side of the road, his car broke down and he left his cell phone and was late for meeting. I gave him a ride.” I said too much.

“That was nice of you.” She smiles.

“I will take a banana walnut bread and a bear claw.”

She moves about and grabs the pastries for me. “Will you be eating them here or to go?”

I look around. The place isn’t too full, just a couple people having a coffee and food.

“I think I’ll have it here. Can I also get a black coffee?” I’m dying for some coffee.

“Yup. Here you go.” She hands me the food.

“How much do I owe you?”

  “It’s on James.”

  “You sure?”

“Yup, he has an open tab here.”

  “Thanks.”

“My name’s Liz.” She extends her hand.

“I’m Emma.” I shake her hand. “Liz, like Liz of Liz’s bakery?”

“Yup, that’s me. Anything else you need, just ask.” She giggles.

“Thank you.” I move to a table with my banana bread and bear claw and sit facing the door.

I take a bite of the banana bread, and it’s amazingly delicious. I move onto the bear claw, and it’s equally as delicious. I’ve always loved the flaky pastry and almond flavors of a bear claw.

I sit for a while, enjoying my breakfast and thinking of what I need to get while I’m in town. I plan on staying until I figure out where I want to go next. I was living with my boyfriend back in the city, but he cheated on me so many times while I was deployed. He hasn’t left me alone since I came out here.

While I was in the military, I was in JAG, also known as a military lawyer. I spent years in the military, deploying twice and finally leaving earlier this year, honorably discharged. I think part of the reason I joined the military, aside from serving my country, was that I would be able to explore and travel. My aunt always kept me so sheltered from everything, and the military opened my eyes up to the world. I loved it.

I’m brought out of my thoughts by the sounds of a bunch of motorcycles. Five of them just pulled up to the bakery.

I keep to myself and continue to eat my food and search on my phone. The door to the bakery dings open, and in walks what I think are the biggest men I’ve ever seen in my life. They are all wearing a black vest that says “Corrupted Saints MC” on the back. One of the vests is not quite the same as the others. The back isn’t quite complete, and it says “Prospect” on the bottom. I can’t help but stare at them all. They are gorgeous and intimidating as hell. These guys definitely look dangerous. All the guys say hello to Liz, but one of them is walking right up to her and behind the counter.

“Hey baby.” He gives her a giant hug and kiss.

“Hey hubs, what brings you guys by this morning?” Liz says. This guy must be her boyfriend or something. Lucky girl, I think.

“We stopped by for some breakfast on the way to check out the new clubhouse.”

Liz turns to the other guys while the big one who I assume is her boyfriend heads towards the back.

“What can I get you guys?” she asks them.

They all start listing off what they want. I just realized I’ve seen that vest before. That guy Rock from earlier this morning was wearing one. Is he in a motorcycle club? I never got to see the back of his vest, just a glimpse of the front. It said “Rock” and “Treasurer”, whatever that means.

They start pushing tables together and settle down next to mine. The one with the word “Prospect” on his vest keeps looking at me. I look up at him and make eye contact and smile.

“I knew you would have gorgeous eyes.”

  “Excuse me?”

“Your eyes, they are beautiful.” He moves to the chair across from mine and extends his hand out. “Name’s…”

“Leave her alone, Prospect. This isn’t the time for you to be picking up on women.” It’s the guy from earlier. When did he get here?

“Sorry, Sir.” This dude changed his tune quick and moves away from me fast. I guess the guy from earlier is part of the motorcycle club and has some pull to make that guy shut up and leave.

Rock walks over to me. “Sorry to interrupt your breakfast, ma’am.”

“He’s harmless. I’ve dealt with worse in the military,” I say, shrugging my shoulder.

One of the other guys butts in. His vest says Buzz; he’s the one that was kissing Liz, the owner.

“You were in the military?” Buzz asks.

“I sure was, I just got out not too long ago. Were you?”

  Rock stands by listening.

“You bet your ass I was. What did you do?”

“I was JAG.” He whistles when I say it.

  “How many deployments?”

“Two.” I check my phone. I really should be getting to the store. I need to stock up on some toiletries, clothes, gas for the generator at the house, and food. “Sorry, I gotta get going. I need to finish my errands for the day. I just moved into town and the house I’m staying in is a mess. It was nice meeting you. I didn’t catch your name?”

  “Buzz, my name’s Buzz.”

“I’m Emma, nice meeting you. Nice seeing you again, Rock.” I wave to him as I stand up and head to the counter to say bye to Liz.

“Thanks for the delicious breakfast, Liz.”

  “Anytime.”

I wonder if she knows where I can buy some clothes. “Hey, do you mind if I ask you a quick question before I leave?”

  “Shoot.”

“Where can I buy some clothes for a girl with curves like mine?” I don’t want to say like us because she is a little bigger than me, but we would still shop plus. I try to stay in shape, but my ass never seems to get smaller.

“Oh, there’s a store called Closet Curves, it’s not too far from here. They’re a cute little boutique and have all sizes.” I plug the name into my phone and my GPS says it’s only a few blocks away and on the way to the store.

“Thanks, see ya later.” I walk out the store to the red truck my aunt had. I guess it’s my truck now.

  Chapter 3

  Rock

Twice in one day. I just ran into Emma again, the girl that gave James a ride to the new clubhouse property. Our new prospect was all over her and I didn’t like it.

“Yo bro, what’s going on in that sick mind of yours?” Buzz says to me as we eat breakfast at Liz’s.

“Nothin, just thinking about the new property and money shit,” I lie.

“Why’d you stop the prospect from talking to that girl?” He noticed that, didn’t he? Fuckers are always so inquisitive.

“She looked like she wanted to enjoy her breakfast and the prospect’s been getting on my last damn nerve. It’s like he hasn’t fucked in a century.”

Buzz starts laughing. “Noticed that, didn
t you?”

“I’d have to be a fucking idiot not to. He needs to take it easy or he’s asking for trouble.”

“I’m gonna say bye to my old lady so we can head out.” Buzz heads back to Liz. We need to head to the new property to decide the building plans for the new clubhouse. Breaker and Tank, the President and Vice President of the Corrupted Saints, are already out there. Buzz is our Sergeant at Arms, and Winger is our Road Captain. We make up the leadership of the Corrupted Saints MC.

“Y’all ready to go?” Buzz says.

We all get up and head towards our bikes.

  “Bye, Liz,” I say.

“Bye, Rock, see you guys later,” she calls out.

We start up our bikes and head out. I feel like I’m having déjà vu driving back here since I was just here.

  Ten minutes later…

We finally pull up to the new property where our new clubhouse is going to be. I can see Breaker and Tank’s bikes out front.

“Hot damn, this is huge,” the annoying fuck of a prospect says.

  “It sure is,” Buzz interjects.

We all walk up and into the building. The new clubhouse sits on a five-acre lot, there is a warehouse in the center, and it’s surrounded by trees. It’s super private, and it’s going to be a bitch to set up surveillance. The only good thing about the previous owners is they caged her in. They built a wall all around the perimeter of the property and a gate for the driveway.

As soon as we walk in, Breaker speaks. “Prospect, keep a look out at front. Make sure no one comes in. I want just leadership on this one.” Thank the fucking lord. I was going to punch that bitch out. I’m a quiet dude and keep to myself, but that man makes me want to crack. There is something about him that doesn’t sit right with me. He and another prospect have been getting on my last damn nerves.

“Alright you guys, sit down. I want to talk about the specs of this place.”

  We all sit down.

“Winger’s old lady, Sam, has an architect contact, and she sent over these plans for the set up. Sam made it 3D in that program of hers and will be designing the place.” He shows us a video on a laptop of the place. It looks fucking great, expensive. It looks like we are getting a few different buildings on the land, and the main clubhouse is going to be huge.
