“What kind of shit?” I ask.

“Someone broke in and destroyed the place. It looks like they tried to break into the safe. I need you back here now, fucker. You’re the only one who knows how to really handle the security system and I need to know what was taken,” he yells into the phone.

“Shit! I’ll be there as soon as I can.”

He hangs up. I put my phone down and go immediately to my bedroom where Emma is sleeping. I knock lightly on the door.

I can hear shuffling from inside. “Come in,” she yells from the other side of the door. I enter my bedroom and find her up and coming from the bathroom.

“Good morning, Emma,” I say. I can’t help but notice how savory she looks. I’d give everything to take her over my knee and rub her ass. Shit, I need to focus.

“Good morning, Rock. Everything okay?” she asks, concerned.

“Yeah. Why would you ask that?”

“You look tense.” How the fuck did she pick that up?

“I don’t want to rush you, but I need to get back. I have club business I need to take care of immediately.”

“Oh, okay. Let me get dressed.”

I go to my closet and grab some sweats and a t-shirt.

“Here.” I hand them to her. “I don’t want you walking downstairs in the same clothes as last night. Plus, I think these will be more comfortable for you.” She grabs the clothes and grazes my hand.

“Thank you. I won’t say no to that. I wasn’t looking forward to putting that dress on again, and I don’t want anyone getting the wrong idea about me” I oddly feel like that was directed towards me and more.

I grab myself a pair of jeans and a black t-shirt and change in the living room. I’m not a man of modesty, but I want to give her her privacy.

“Okay, I’m ready.” Emma comes out of my bedroom dressed in my clothes.

  “Let’s go.”

We go down the elevators to the garage. I press the button to my car.

“Hold on, this is your car?” Emma asks me, surprised.

“She sure is, it’s my second baby after my bike.” I love my Audi, she is a sleek black beauty and she’s fast.

“This is a dream car. It’s beautiful.”

I run around to the passenger side and open the door for her. “Thank you. Climb in. We need to get going.” I close the door once she is inside and run around to the driver’s side and hop in. I start the car and start our drive back home.

  Two hours later…

I’m pulling up to Emma’s house. She fell asleep about thirty minutes ago and has been sound asleep since. I stop the car and cut the engine.

I turn to Emma and caress her face. “Emma.” She stirs a little. I caress her face a little more. “Emma, hun. You need to wake up for me. We’re at your place.”

“Oh. Okay. How long have I been asleep?”

“About thirty minutes, not too long. Come on, let’s get you inside.”

I open the door and run around to her side. I always keep on alert. Her place is on the outskirts of town and isolated. I open her door and help her out.

“Thank you. I can manage from here.”

“I’m going to walk you inside and make sure you’re okay.” I grab her hand. “Come on.” She follows along with me. We reach her front door and open the door to her house.

“How did you open my house?” she asks, confused.

“I have your keys. You put them in the cup holder in my car.”

  “Oh.” She seems confused.

“You okay?” I ask as we walk into her house concerned.

“Yeah. I think I’m just wiped.” I make my way through her house to make sure nothing is amiss. “What are you doing, Rock?”

“I’m making sure everything is okay,” I yell as I walk back from the back bedroom and find her on the couch.

“You secured this place like Fort Knox Rock. No one is going to be in here.”

She doesn’t know, but something tripped one of the sensors in her place. The rear window. I was able to view her cameras and didn’t see anything but just to make sure, I had to check. I don’t want to worry her. I also don’t want to be a creep and let her know that I have alerts to her security system. It’s not like I watch them, but if something happens, I wanted to make sure I knew. I also received the alert about an hour after we left the city.

“Alright. Well, I’m going to head out. I have club businesses.”

  “Okay.” She falls asleep.

I make my way out of her house and make sure to lock up. I get back into my car and drive towards the clubhouse and call Breaker.

“Breaker here. Where the fuck are you, Rock?”

“I’m down the street from the clubhouse. I’ll be there in five.” I hang up. I rev my engine and continue my drive to the clubhouse. I wasn’t lying, I will be there in a few minutes.

I finally pull up to the front of the clubhouse.

I see Winger as I pull up. He lets out a whistle. “Nice, man, very nice. I haven’t seen her since you bought her.” He refers to my car.

“Yeah, I prefer my lady,” I say, pointing to my bike. I head into the clubhouse. As soon as I walk in, I see three club whores on the couch with one of the prospects. As soon as he sees me, he stands up quick. His dick hanging out.

“Put your dick away, Prospect.” He scrambles to tuck himself back in.

“You want some of this, Rock? You’re the only one who doesn’t have an old lady,” one of the club whores says as she walks up to me. She stops right in my way, facing me with a pout.

I walk right up to her and get as close as I can to her face.

“You can’t give me what I want. Now get the fuck out of my way,” I say.

She steps away and goes back to the prospect. This chick has been with so many of the brothers. I never break my rule, I have never fucked a club whore and I never will. I continue on my way to church.

Winger follows in after me, laughing. I finally make my way to the meeting room. Everyone is in here Breaker, Tank, Buzz and now Winger and me.

“You wanna tell me what the fuck is going on, Pres?” I ask.

“We got a call this morning from one of the prospects that someone broke into the strip club. The manager is the one who called. We went over and someone trashed the place and they knew where the safe was. They tried to break in but couldn’t. They stole some cash from the front but nothing more.”

“What the fuck?” I grab my laptop and start looking at the numbers and then the cameras. I can feel my brothers hovering around me, waiting. They let me work. I can feel them coming and going out of the room. Finally, about an hour later, I have news.

  “Pres.”

“What did you find?” he asks me.

“It looks like someone tried to make a withdrawal from the bank accounts for the strip club.” I keep all the accounts separate for each business. Only the leadership has the ability to withdraw or make any transactions. We are the only ones who can make the transactions and we are only able to do it in person with a specific ID, and I made us each our own pin. The bank knows not to allow anyone to make transactions unless two brothers are present. Breaker and I are the only ones who can do anything online and only from a laptop that I have encrypted. The Corrupted Saints have upwards of 150 million in assets and more than 80 million in liquid assets split between the businesses.

“They tried to withdraw 20k in cash. When I spoke to Macy at the bank, she told me a young guy came into the bank to try and withdraw cash. He had an ATM card. She told him she needed his other ID and another Corrupted Saint to make the transaction. She knows all of us, she didn’t make a fuss, and once she told him about the ID, she said the kid ran.”

“What the fuck, Rock? How could this happen? What did the security cameras show? And why didn’t she call us?” Tank asks me. I don’t know why she didn’t call, but we need to get down there to talk to her.

  “Come take a lo
ok yourself.” I pull up the footage on my computer and show them.

The guys huddle around me and look at the footage. We see a group of five guys breaking into the backdoor. They broke one of the only windows that doesn’t have an alarm, as if they were scoping out the place or an inside job.

“Why would they go to that window? Of all the windows in the joint, they knew to go to the one without the alarm,” Winger says. It’s also the highest window up and a pain in the ass to get to.

“I think it was someone who had been scoping out the place or someone on the inside.” Not many people know about that window. “I need to look into this more. I’m going to head over there to tighten up security. I think we need to interview everyone in the joint, too. Find out if there have been any regulars. I will go over security footage to see if someone has been hanging out as well. I need someone to go talk to Macy at the bank.”

Breaker is the one to delegate. “Buzz, go interview everyone at the club. Tank, I need you to go talk to Macy at the bank. Winger, go talk to the prospect that called this morning. I want to find out who the fuck did this and soon. I’m going to call some of other chapter and ally clubs in the area and see if they have had or heard of anything happening. I want to know who the fuck is fucking with my club.”

All the brothers leave except for Breaker. He stays behind. He’s sitting at the main seat of the table with his arms crossed.

  “What’s up, Breaker?”

“You getting close to Emma?” Why would he be asking me this?

  “I helped her out.”

“You may wanna take a look at this.” He hands me a letter that was written by Emma’s Aunt Sarah.

I start to read the letter. It says that she needs protection and asks if the Corrupted Saints would lend a hand in protecting her niece. She said her parents were murdered when Emma was young and that she always did her best in protecting her and that she tried to keep her away from this place but knew one day she would return. It also says that her father was the founding member of an MC called the Blue Saints and her parents were killed because of club wars.

“What in the fuck? Are you serious? When did you get this?” How could I not have known? I mean, I did a surface scan on her background and hadn’t delved into her past too much.

“Sarah was an old lady of the founder of this club. His dying wish from the Corrupted Saints was to always protect Sarah. Now that Emma is around, she is family and I’m ordering her protection. We need to let her know. I don’t think she knows. Her aunt kept a lot from her.”

“We need to show her the letter, otherwise she isn’t going to believe it.” I can’t believe what I am fucking reading and hearing. “How did we not know this?”

“The old man that Sarah was with kept things under wraps. The fewer people to know, the better the secret and tighter the security.”

“It makes sense. Who knows about the letter?”

“Just leadership. I trust you all like my flesh-and-blood brothers. They needed to know. Until we find who the threat is in this situation, we need to keep her on a tight leash.”

“I will look into her background more. I didn’t delve too deep.”

“Do it and find out. I want to know everything, Rock.”

Breaker stays behind in the room, and I head out. As soon as I head out, I find the prospect from before. I don’t trust him with shit. “Prospect, where is the other prospect?”

“What do you need, sir? I can help.”

“I didn’t ask for your questions, did I? I asked for an answer. Where is he?” They have to watch out for one another.

“He’s polishing the bikes.” His face turns red

“Good. Get your shit together, I want you to wrap it up. You’re going to polish all the bikes and cars, too.”

  “What the fuck, Rock?”

I think he realized his mistake. The club whores all move away from him as I stalk right up to him.

“My ears must be broken, Prospect. What did you say?” He knows better than to disrespect.

“I said what the fuck. Why do I have to polish anything?”

I knock him out cold with a clean shot to the jaw.

Breaker comes out. “What the hell, Rock?”

“He disrespected me and this club. I gave him orders, and he defied them. He’s out.”

We have a code in the club. If we are disrespected or defied, a prospect is out. If we can’t trust them to do something as simple as cleaning or polishing a bike, how can we count on them to have our back?

“Shit, Rock. Where is Gaines? He’s the one who vouched for him.” All prospects need to be sponsored and vouched for. This fuck is not Corrupted Saints material. Some of the other brothers grab the prospect and drag him out the back.

“I already sent him a text and let him know he is out. He’s on his way. I’m going to have Joey look out for Emma. She needs protection. Someone is going to have to talk to her about all this.”

“Hello?” It’s a woman’s voice that sounds like Emma.

  “What the fuck?”

Charlotte and Emma are walking into the club. Emma looks completely freaked out, and she has blood on the sweats that I had given her. Charlotte is also shaking and has blood on her as well.

“Char, what is going on?” Breaker rushes right up to her, bringing her into his arms and inspecting her to make sure she isn’t hurt. “Are you hurt?”

“No, it’s not me,” she says.

  “What do you mean?”

“I went over to Emma’s house to drop off her bags and there was a guy in there and…” She stops in tears before saying anything more.

“What?” I say to her as I stare down at Emma. I’m frozen in place right now. The rage inside is me brewing, and I’m about to reach my tipping point.

Emma is the one to speak. “He was trying to kill me.” What in the hell?

“Where is he? I’m going to kill him,” Breaker asks.

Charlotte mumbles something into Breaker’s chest, and we can’t make out the words.

“What was that?” Breaker asks again.

“Emma shot him,” Charlotte spits out through tears.

Holy fucking hell. This is a mess. I go over to Emma and look her over. “Are you hurt?”

“No, I’m not hurt,” she says very quietly. I can barely hear her.

“Where is the guy?” Breaker asks.

“He’s at my house. In the bedroom,” Emma says out loud. She’s completely calm.

Breaker gets on his cell phone and orders all the leadership to Emma’s house. Only Breaker and I are at the clubhouse.

“We need to go to Emma’s house. Ladies, I need you to stay here,” Breaker says.

“I’m going to my house. I need to see,” Emma says.

“Do you think that is a good idea?” I ask her.

“Yes, I do. I think it’s a good idea. That’s my house, and I shot him. I need to see what I did.” She looks at me, pissed. She changed tune quick.

“Okay. Fine. Let’s go. Charlotte, do you want me to stay here with you?” Breaker says.

“I’ll go, but I will stay in the car.”

We all head out to the cars and drive over to Emma’s house.

  Chapter 12

  Emma

I’m sitting in my car with Rock driving me to my house. I’m covered in blood that’s not mine. I was just attacked, and I shot a man. I don’t know how to process my emotions right now; I honestly feel numb and slightly calm. I’ve shot my gun before, but never in a situation where I was being physically attacked in my own home.

“Emma, can you tell me what happened?” Rock asks as he drives.

“I was sleeping and got up to use the bathroom when I smelled cigarette smoke on the way to my bathroom. I thought maybe I had left something on but couldn’t think of what would smell like a cigarette. I finished up in the bathroom, and I was attacked by a man.” He listens quietly. “I couldn’t make
out his face, but he was a huge man, bigger than Tank, and quick. He tried to push me down and tie me up, but I fought it. He kept saying they were going to pay him big for me. I didn’t understand.”

  “What else happened?”

“I knocked him on the head with my elbow and was able to get away to run towards my gun, but he caught me again; this time he was straddling me and trying to choke me. That’s when Charlotte knocked on my door. It threw him off, and I was able to get away again. I yelled to her to go away and get help as I ran to get my gun.” I’m shaking now. I feel Rock’s hands engulf mine to steady them. “I was able to get my gun, and I shot him in the leg. Charlotte must have thought I said come in because next thing I knew, she was inside my house. The guy got his bearings and was coming at me again. I shot him again in the other leg, and he went down again. I thought he was unconscious and as I was running away, he tripped me; I got covered in his blood. Charlotte started screaming and hit the guy on the head with a vase. We were able to escape, and we came here.”

We pull up to my house, and the front door is as wide open as we left it. The other people from the Corrupted Saints are already at my house. I can see them with their guns drawn and moving into my house.

I’m ready to hop of out the car when Rock stops me. “Let them make sure no one is there and if there is, then he can’t hurt anyone. You left your gun in there.”

“I don’t want them to get hurt on my account, though. This isn’t of concern for you guys. I barely know you all.”

“Listen, you are our concern and we will explain it to you once we get through right now. Let us do what we need to make sure you are safe. Okay?” he says to me with great concern showing on his face.

This beautiful giant of man is going to be the death of me. I have trouble denying or saying no to him. I sit back and try to relax. I can’t help but start to shiver and shake.

“Emma, you’re coming down from the adrenaline. Come here.” He opens up his arms, inviting me to cuddle up to him.

“It’s okay, Rock, you don’t have to.” I really do want to, though. He grabs me by the arm and pulls me into him. His warmth immediately calms me. He smells delicious. I can’t help but let out a little satiated whimper from how nice it feels to be held.
